All About Cookies

When visiting our site our system may ask your computer to initiate a "cookie."

You may have read scary stories about cookies and how they can be used to "spy on you."  That kind of langauge is just a marketing gimmic used to get you to purchase or download cookie deletion programs. These programs are at the very least useless or could quite possibly be spyware programs that really do spy on you.

Allow us to set the record straight... Simply put, cookies are small pieces of information that web sites ask your computer to temporarily store in order to provide you with personalized service.

In layman's term, a cookie is a lot like a blank piece of paper.  When you first come to our site the paper is blank.  If while visiting you intentionally give us any information that may help make your next visit easier and friendlier, our system may write down some of that information for you on your piece of paper and then hand it back to you for safekeeping.  The next time you visit us, rather than having to re-type in that same information all over again, you just hand us that same piece of paper.  We read it and then once again give it right back to you for safekeeping.  Cookies use very little space on your computer and they do not slow your computer down.  It's that simple.

Cookies are no secret, so if you are curious, at the bottom of this page are the cookies that you send to us.  Remember, we don't store cookies, you store them and then simply show them to us when you visit.

Your user cookie is kept on your computer for up to a year after your last visit.  The other cookie is a session cookie, and it is only kept for the duration of your current visit  to our site.  It simply holds trivial information about your current visit, and it is deleted when you leave.

There may also be two or three additional strangely named cookies present.  These are put there by Google, and they help us with our site content.

For your peace of mind, be assured that we never put your credit card or social security information in any cookie.  In fact, we never put any sensitive information in any cookie.
