Chromium

Chromium is a key constituent of GTF (glucose tolerance factor), and its use as a supplement is based upon the effects on blood sugar control mechanisms. Insulin is dependent upon chromium for correct functioning. The primary uses are in the treatment of impaired glucose tolerance, elevated cholesterol levels, and in helping with weight loss. It also has been used to treat acne.
