Dong-quai

A member of the angelica species, dong quai has been cultivated in parts of Asia for its medicinal properties for centuries. In China, it is predominantly regarded as a remedy for "female complaints", such as dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, menopausal symptoms, and for assuring a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Dong quai also has a reputation for use in the treatment of abdominal pain and arthritis.
