Echinacea Purpurea

Echinacea purpurea (commonly known as the purple coneflower) is a flowering plant that grows to a height of 5 ft. It's name comes from the Greek echinos (meaning sea urchin) referring to the prickly scales on the dried seed head. Native American cultures have used Echinacea throughout history for its ability to stimulate the immune system and increase defenses against viruses and bacteria, especially those associated with the common cold.
