Hops

Hops have been widely used in the brewing industry for their bitter flavor and natural preservative properties, however their medicinal value was also recognized in early times. Hop pickers were found to tire easily and so hops gained a reputation as a sedative. That reputation has endured, and hops are now used in pillows to aid sleep and also in preparations to promote sleep and relaxation.
