L-Ornithine

A non-essential (meaning that it can be made by the body) amino acid. Ornithine helps the liver in the conversion of toxic ammonia waste to urea (which is eliminated from the body). Ornithine is converted to arginine (see) in the body and is also believed to be a precursor of growth hormone.
