L-Proline

One of the 20 amino acids that make up all proteins. Proline can be formed in the body from another amino acid, and therefore is not classified as a dietary essential amino acid. Proline has a unique molecular feature that makes it an important part of collagen, the protein that gives rigidity to connective tissue.
