Polysorbate 80

A substance that is derived from plant fatty acids and sorbitol (see). It is added to VitaMist spray nutraceuticals as an emulsifying agent, that is a substance which aids the dispersion of fats and oils in a liquid, by acting as a kind of bridge between the two. It therefore helps the absorption of nutrients across the buccal mucosa. It is found in many common foods and pharmaceuticals.
