5 Tips to build your Business during this Holiday Season

Can you believe the holiday season is just around the corner? I know, I know, we really don’t want to think about that, but it’s coming, like it or not!

With the hustle and bustle of the season, sometimes we forget that this is also a great time to plant seeds for your business to find product users. It is written, there is a time to sow and a time to reap. What you sow during the holidays will bear much fruit during the upcoming growing season. (January – March are typically the best months for any online or network marketing business).

Get out when you can and plant those seeds. Here are 5 tips to help you incorporate your business into your everyday life during holidays.

Organize a play date with the kids

Invite a few of your friends over for a play date with the kids. The moms will enjoy the company of adults and the kids will have a good time playing together. If it snows, it’s a plus, because building a snowman is always fun. Let them know that you will be showing some of your new products and having some snacks and beverages. Be creative with your products so they will be seeing something different than what they’ve seen before.

Network with the holiday help

This season is a time for doing many activities that you won’t be doing any other time of the year. Will you be chopping down your own tree? Most tree farms are seasonal. You will be seeing employees that you don’t typically see all year long. Lots of college kids are employed during the holidays. Generation Y kids are great prospects for any type of new product or business, because college kids always need extra money.

Are you heading out for a holiday vacation? Resort employees are always looking for extra income and ways of feeling better.

Visit your local craft shows and holiday expos

There are so many opportunities here. This time of year is an amazing time for craft fairs and expos, Folks are coming to buy gifts. Take plenty of business cards and samples if you have them. Share your product and opportunity with the vendors. They are all entrepreneurs.

Even if you don’t have a booth, go have fun, and don’t forget your business cards. Many of these people are just hoping for the right product or opportunity will come along!

Participate in holiday church activities

I don’t know about your church, but my church comes alive during this season. There are so many networking activities. There are singles’ groups, couples’ groups, choir groups, plays and so many more. Get involved. You will not only be doing a great service to your church, but you may also pick up some prospects or sell some product along the way.

Walk your dog! (This is my dog’s personal favorite when you can get her butt out of bed!!)

Do you have a t-shirt that advertises your website. If you don’t, you should get at least one. Get a dark shirt with big white letters that has your domain name on the front and back and walk your dog anywhere the crowds gather. Make sure you have a catchy, easy to remember domain name.

People come out at this time of the year. They may not be ready to start their own home based business right now, but if you plant the seeds and continue to water them through the use of an simple follow up system, when the kids go back to school and the holiday season is over, some of those moms and dads just may be looking to make some extra income.

The best thing is you don’t have to change anything you’re doing. Just go about your business and collect names!

Have a great Holiday!

The Power of Being Grateful

I love Thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday. Family, food, friends, and football thrown in for good measure. But I digress.

What I like about Thanksgiving is it’s about giving thanks. And I think gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions out there. Why is it so powerful? It is powerful because it can change your life.

My business and life are going great right now, better than I had planned, but it hasn’t always been that way. There were plenty of times where things were looking pretty bleak. During one particularly grim time, a friend told me to start listing everything I had in my life to be grateful for. Now, when things are looking pretty bad, it can be easy to say “everything sucks; I have nothing to be grateful for.” But, if we’re honest, we know that isn’t true. There’s always something, no matter how small, that is in your life you can be grateful for, and sometimes you need to take a step back to see it.

What’s so amazing about gratitude is it’s so simple, yet it has so much power. It’s so powerful it can start turning things around for you. Now, granted, being grateful all by itself will probably not turn a sinking business into a profitable one. But, it CAN be the catalyst to a transformation.

Why does this work? Well, if you’re a fan of the Secret and law of attraction, you’ve heard the phrase “what you focus on expands.” So if you focus on all the things you’re grateful for instead of all the things that aren’t working, the universe will bring you more things to be thankful for and less of the things that aren’t working.

Now, while I do think this is true, I also know a lot of people do not believe this or don’t think it’s true for them. So, might I suggest another, more practical reason, for why gratitude works — because it makes you feel better.

Yes, if you start to think about all the wonderful things that are in your life and that you have to be grateful for; things don’t look quite so bleak. You’re able to break, even for just a few moments, the funk you might have sunk into. And, with that improved mindset, you most likely can see your situation a bit clearer and start coming up with some solutions (and maybe even take some actions) to get yourself out of it.

But gratitude isn’t just about when things are going wrong; it’s also powerful when things are going right. When you’re on top of the world, it’s still an amazing practice to give thanks. If nothing else, it gives you a moment to fully appreciate how wonderful things are right now. (And isn’t that a nice feeling to enjoy?)

So, how do you start adding a practice of gratitude to your life? …. Make a list of ten things that you can be grateful for about you, your downline, and about your business. To make a change, we must do the work, don’t put off for tomorrow, and make a list NOW!

All you have to do is just read this list every day and just before going to bed. We need to change our focus so we can change the results in ours and our VitaMist lives. My intention is that this will help you to achieve your outcome and please make sure to use the tools…. NOW! My intention is to serve others and make your business become profitable.  Again thanks for your time, and make your life magnificent!!

A Thanksgiving Message from Founder Ms. Sari Deihl

Dear VitaMist Family,

As we begin the holiday season, I think of a remark by American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson: “I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and new.”

At VitaMist and in the VitaMist family, we value our old friends and family, who keep us on track through our daily challenges. But, each year, we also look forward to the new faces, new friends and family members who bring additional ideas and perspectives to help grow VitaMist into that household name.

Especially in tough times, Thanksgiving is an opportunity to realize that we have much for which we can be thankful. This truly American holiday allows us to focus on our blessings and the freedoms we enjoy. It’s inspiring to see so many VitaMist family members and groups working to help make the world a better place. Thanks to everyone for your contributions to the community I call the VitaMist family.

Bill and I wish each of you a joyous and peaceful Thanksgiving. Please enjoy the company of your loved ones, think about the importance of old and new friends, be safe and take time to reflect on our many blessings.

 Best wishes,

From My Heart With LOV

The Winning Close:

YOU: What did you like best about the presentation?

No matter what their answer is here respond with…. Great!!!!

YOU:  “Let me ask you something.  If you make the decision right now to become a VitaMist distributor, how much would you want to earn, let’s say, on a monthly basis?”

Write the amount your prospect wants to earn down on a notepad.  Let’s say, for example, that he/she tells you $2,000 a month.

YOU:  “OK, you want to earn $2000 a month becoming a VitaMist distributor, and you will be building a team sharing the VitaMist products with friends and family to earn it.  Realistically, when do you want this?”

You have just asked the second question of the Winning Close, “When?”  Suppose your prospect tells you in three months.

You:  “OK, three months it is; I am making a note of that. What do you think your boss would say if you ask for a $2000 raise?  Did I think so?  Now if you got started with me today, and you were making an additional $500 a month three months from now, would you quit or keep on working to earn more?”

Most prospects will say they would keep on working.  This can also be used to tone down a prospect’s monetary goal for a period.  Suppose your green prospect wanted to earn $20,000 a month by the third month.  Perhaps it is suitable for all of your prospects to want $20,000 a month income, but how realistic is it?  If anyone joins your sales group with the expectation of earning $20,000 a month in three months, he/she will likely be disappointed and quit when it does not happen.  Using this approach will enable you to bring you to being the prospect closer to reality and get a commitment.

YOU:  “The reason I ask that most people give me a one-year commitment to this business is that by following our system, they surprise themselves a lot earlier.  How about you?  If I give you my commitment to help you build your foundation over the next few weeks and teach you what you need to know, would you give me a one-year commitment to do this business to earn $2000 a month?”

Most prospects will say “YES” at this point.  Now, you must ask the third question in the Winning Close.

YOU:  “What are you willing to do to earn, $2000 a month with VitaMist?”

No matter what they answer, write it down and then tell them:

YOU: ”What I am going to ask of you is simple.  Would you be willing to go back to school one night a week for an hour?  Would you be willing to work with me in your spare time over the next few weeks to build a foundation for your organization?  Would you be willing to commit to doing this business for one year?  Would you be willing to invest $100 in a Product?

You should receive a “YES” to these questions, so you are ready for the Winning Close!

YOU: Great!  When do you want to get started earning your first commission check?”

You will be surprised at the number of prospects that will answer “NOW”!  The next step is to place the application in front of them and then complete an order form.  Closing is guaranteed at this time, for they have committed.

YOU:  “I think you have filled out everything that we need.  How do you wish to pay for your first order?”

By adequately preparing your prospect for the close, you will increase your closing success.  This prospect was first prepared by answering the five questions in the initial presentation.

* Who is the company?

      * How much money can I earn

      * How much does it cost?

      * Can I do it?

Then you immediately work the Winning Close.

Looking back on the initial presentation, you will notice that the prospect has the assurance that he/she would not be alone in the beginning because you were committed to helping with presentations for the first few weeks.  You also stated that there were some upline distributors also willing to help.  This is worth 50% of any close.  Every prospect will feel more comfortable joining with a mentor and a coach for guidance.

The prospect was also shown and explained the step-by-step system, which reassured that there would be a definite and clear blueprint to follow from the very beginning.

           1. What or how much do you want to earn?

             2. When do you want this?

               3. What are you willing to do to get it?

                 4. When do you want to get started earning?

The interaction you created with the four questions in the Winning Close served to create a mental bond and get the prospect into an active role, rather than just listening to your presentation.  Every answer will be positive and lead to saying “RIGHT NOW” to the last question.  If you do not interact with prospects and get them thinking and talking, you will not succeed in making a close.

This presentation is highly effective with 90% of prospects, but there are still those that are unmovable.  Usually, these are the ones who do not have enough available cash to get started and may be embarrassed by the fact.  I sometimes believe that the harder it is for someone to join, the better he/she will do.  So, work with that prospect and make it easier to join.  Such prospects are sometimes the ones that can produce those great referrals. Never miss the opportunity to get referrals.

YOU:  “If you need to wait a few weeks to put your money together, I can understand.  I will hold your application out until you can afford to make your purchase.  Meanwhile, we can go ahead and start making presentations, so you will have an organization started when you are ready.  This will assure that you will be able to pay for your initial products when you receive them and make your first profit with VitaMist at the same time.  You should get this book right now and study it.  This is the system we will be working with to build your income.”

No matter what reason prospects give for not “writing the check” today, seize the opportunity to make referral presentations.  The chances are that if you have them accompany you on a few presentations to their prospects, you will get that check quickly.  At the very least, you will have the opportunity to make a few referral presentations to people you would not ever have met.

A “Force Close” technique that seems to work quite well is to create fear of loss.

YOU:  “Now earning, $2000 a month with VitaMist is not for everyone and may not be right for you.  The only reason I showed this to you today is that I am committed to making it work for everyone that works with me.  If it is not something you want to do, that’s fine, but I am sure you know someone that you could introduce me to that would be interested.”

The “Take Away Close” is sometimes very effective.

YOU:  “My income depends entirely on the success I have with all of my distributors.  That’s why I spend so much time getting them started before I let them work by themselves.  I can only work with one or two new distributors at a time, so if this is something that you do not want, I will completely understand and appreciate your telling me right up front and not wasting my time.  I will find someone else that wants it.  By the way, if you are not interested, who do you know that might like for me to help them earn, $2000 a month?”

Should you strike out completely, don’t let it bother you at all.  Some people will never get to where they want to be in life because they have a fear of some kind that prevents them from trying.

“Some Will, Some Won’t, So What…NEXT”

Don’t forget to eat your greens for Labor Day

We don’t mean filling up on green food coloring and green sodas, but how about considering adding a new tradition – more green foods in your diet.

“Green foods across the board are healthy in terms of their vitamin, mineral, water and antioxidant content, and Labor Day is the perfect time to think about how you can incorporate more of them into your diet,” says Erica Wald, RD, a wellness coordinator with the MFit Health Promotion Division at the University of Michigan Health System.

The key, as with any diet, is variety.

“You want to incorporate lots of different intensities of green all the various colors of green,” she says. “The more varied the colors, the more varied your vitamin and mineral intake.”

Wald also says that preparing them in a variety of ways, such as putting them in soups, stews, and casseroles even serving them raw are great ways to incorporate more greens into your diet.

Here are seven healthy and delicious tips for eating green:

              1. Increase your fiber with broccoli. Broccoli provides many health benefits, including both soluble and insoluble fiber; vitamins A, C and E (important antioxidants for staving off cellular damage from free-radicals); vitamin K for bone health; and a special antioxidant called sulforaphane, known for its powerful anticancer properties.

              1. Vary your leafy greens. It’s important to remember that leafy green vegetables, such as lettuces, come in varying shades of green. The lighter the green, the fewer vitamins and minerals they contain. The darker the green, the higher the concentration of vitamins and minerals. Spinach, a dark leafy green, contains lutein which is good for eye health. Collard greens also contain sulforaphane and beta carotene.

              1. For bone health, look at vegetables like asparagus, green/herbal teas, spinach, kale, turnip, collard and mustard greens, broccoli, cabbage, endive and brussel sprouts.

              1. Improve cholesterol with avocado, which is an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, which can help lower your cholesterol. Consider tossing your dark-green, leafy salad with a few slices of fresh avocado and balsamic vinegar for added benefit.

              1. Alternate oranges with kiwifruit. Kiwifruit contains even more vitamin C than oranges, and they’re an excellent source of dietary fiber.

              1. Snack on green apples. While green apples offer about the same benefits as red or yellow apples, Wald says green apples are an excellent source of soluble and insoluble fiber, which aid in digestion and heart health.

              1. Drink tea green tea. If you like to drink tea, consider choosing green tea instead of black, oolong or other darker teas. Green tea next to white tea packs the biggest punch when it comes to antioxidants. It also contains flavonoids, a class of naturally occurring plant compounds that function as antioxidants.

Whether you like your green vegetables raw or cooked, there are many ways you can incorporate them into your meals.

All these foods are a great way to improve your diet. But whatever you do, don’t forget you still need your VitaMist Sprays to make sure that you are getting all the vitamins you need every single day.

              Dear Vitamist Family

Here at VitaMist, our goal is to teach and encourage leadership.

When we call someone a leader, what we generally mean is that they are the best in their particular field; they are inspiring because of how much they accomplish.  However that isn’t really what true leadership is all about.

True leaders are not just high achievers; they also support the people around them to achieve, and, in many cases, to become leaders themselves.

In other words, true leaders do not create a static group of followers. Rather, they create an environment in which everyone can develop their own potential.

Not everybody is cut out to be a leader, but most of us have the potential to serve, at some time, in a leadership role.

It is also quit possible that we will determine that our gifts are best applied in a supporting role. Supporting the efforts of those leaders, whose vision we admire.

In this case, we can ensure that our energy is best applied by holding the person we work with to a high standard of leadership.

Whichever role fits you the best, we will try to help you cultivate your abilities to guarantee that you will be appreciated.

Whether you are a leader or a supporter…you are equally important here at VitaMist.

              From My Heart With LOV,

              Which Vitamin Are You?

              Sari’s Letter, November 2017

              Dear Vitamist Family,
              As we head into this Holiday Season I thought I would share this wonderful story with you;

              Tablecloth of Memories

My family’s favorite Thanksgiving tradition began in November 2001. I was hosting the big dinner only weeks after the 9/11 attacks. Like many Americans, we were still in shock, still hurting. We kept thinking about all the families around the country whose Thanksgiving dinners would never be the same.

As we finished our meal that year, I brought in a package of fabric pens. I asked our family and guests to write something on the tablecloth that they were thankful for. Everyone took turns writing short notes on the cloth, and we have continued to bring out the pens every year. Notes of love for family, our country and our God are arranged in an intricate puzzle across the light yellow cloth. Children’s handprints are tucked in next to earnest messages of gratitude, while Great-Grandma Cusumano’s shaky writing holds a special place in the center of the mosaic.

The tablecloth has become precious to our family. Every November, my children request the honor of putting out the tablecloth, just like they ask to put the angel on top of our Christmas tree. When Thanksgiving Day arrives, our guests smile and laugh as they read through the memories, while the children search to find their handprints, thrilled to see how much they’ve grown.

When the guests have gone home and the dishes have been put away, I take a few moments for a tradition of my own: reading the special messages left behind by my family and friends. Not all of our family members are present every year, but their words remain on the cloth, reminding me to say a prayer of thanks for each one of them.

              Going Green

              Did You Know…

              That VitaMist Is Green?

All VitaMist products are made from fully recyclable materials.  When you’re finished with your monthly vitamins, drop them in the nearest recycling bin! Those materials can be cleaned, processed and reused.

Here at the home office, we have dedicated recycling bins for all materials that are capable of being recycled (which is a lot!).  We have made great strides in our efforts to go paperless, as all of our documentation on Standard Operating Procedures, GMPs, inventory and reports have moved to electronic over the past two years.  The only documents we regularly print are the records we keep on file for regulatory agencies.  Even the VitaMist View is converting to an online form, for your convenience, and the earth’s.

As nice as having a plush, green lawn looks, we have cut back on the landscaping maintenance.  Replacing sections of grass with crushed rock has allowed us to turn off our irrigation system for good.

Not every section of our office and production buildings are in use at all times, so our policy is to leave the lights off until we need them.  Computers are shut down at the every day, and if there’s nobody in the break room, there’s no reason to leave the lights on.

The heat in Arizona can be oppressive, so there’s no way around using AC, but we have found that we can save energy (and money!) by putting our thermostats on timers, and turning the AC off in offices that are not regularly used.

To cut fuel costs, VitaMist has halted its daily shipment pickups from FedEx.  With the Phoenix Airport right next door, we can save fuel by dropping shipments off on our way home at night.

Finally, we are proud to partner with other businesses who have an eye on the environment, such as DreamHost, who are certified carbon neutral, and Glanbia Nutritionals, winners of the 2015 ‘Green Food & Beverage Award’.

VitaMist has its eye on future possibilities to reduce our carbon footprint.  We will be moving our home office closer to the downtown area, with access to the Valley Metro Light Rail, meaning shorter commutes and more transportation options for employees.

All these efforts will contribute now and in the long run to keeping this earth sustainable.

              Did You Know…

That You Can Go Green, Too?

If you are tired of living a wasteful lifestyle and are resolved to go green, you might feel a little overwhelmed about all of the big changes in your life. Starting something new can be stressful when you are unsure where to begin.  Focus on smaller changes you can make easily before you tackle the more difficult steps of your eco-friendly resolution. Here are some easy and small changes you can make in your everyday life to help live a more eco-friendly lifestyle:

              1. Eat Less Meat. Believe it or not, cutting back on your consumption of meat can make a huge difference in the environment. More than 30 percent of the Earth’s surface is being used to raise and support livestock. According to a United Nations study, “the livestock sector accounts for 9 percent of CO2 deriving from human-related activities, but produces a much larger share of even more harmful greenhouse gases. It generates 65 percent of human-related nitrous oxide, which has 296 times the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of CO2.” Cutting back on your meat consumption is an important step in reducing the overall emission of GWP gases. Less livestock also means more land we can enjoy and use for recreation. Consider replacing some of your meat-heavy meals with vegetables or eating more seafood!
              2. Use Paper Less And Recycle More. The world we live in today is much more reliant on computers and digital technology. It is easy to go a day without using a notebook or even a piece of paper. The less paper you use, the less paper needs to be produced and the more trees that get to fill our forests. By recycling one short ton (0.91 t) of paper you can save 17 mature trees, according to the EPA. If it is essential for you to use paper at your job or at school, you can still make a difference by recycling the paper you do use. Today, more than 40 percent of municipal solid waste is paper and paper products. It takes less energy to create paper through recycled and used sheets than by creating new paper. Recycling is easy and one of the best ways to live green.
              3. Use Canvas Bags Instead Of Plastic. Most stores offer a canvas bag alternative to their wasteful generic plastic and paper bags. Although a canvas bag might cost a small amount to acquire, they are actually much more useful than you might think. A canvas bag is sturdier than a traditional plastic or paper bag and can hold more goods. A canvas bag can also be used to store items or pack items when moving – making it useful in more than one way. Parents, if you have children that are about to head off to college, investing in a few canvas bags would be a great gift. Your kids might not know it yet, but they will be moving a lot in the next few years and those bags will come in extra handy when they need to bring the books they have been accumulating semester to semester with them. Even if you don’t use canvas bags, reusing plastic bags is a great way to live more eco-friendly. Just use your plastic bags in small garbage cans throughout your home, or recycle your used grocery bag! Every small change can make a huge difference.
              4. Start A Compost Pile Or Bin. Compost bins have become a huge trend throughout America in the last few years – and for good reason! Not only do compost bins reduce waste by letting you re-use things you would normally just toss out, but they also save you money and help your plants grow better in your garden! Why go out and buy expensive compost when you could be creating your own with things you are throwing out anyway? If you garden at all, it really doesn’t make any sense NOT having a compost bin. Invest in one or make your own today!
              5. Purchase The Right Light Bulb. Don’t run out today and replace all of your light bulbs even though they are still working, but the next time one of your light bulbs burns out replace it with a more eco-friendly brand. Replace your old bulb with a compact fluorescent light. CFL bulbs can last more than five times longer and use much less electricity than regular incandescent light bulbs. Plus, they are brighter, which means you might able to get away with using less lamps in your home!
              6. Choose Cloth Over Paper. Instead of rushing to the store and purchasing a dozen rolls of paper towels when you are ready to do your spring cleaning, cut up an old t-shirt or other form of clothing and use that as a rag instead. You were going to toss it out anyway, why not save some money and the planet at the same time? Collect all of your used rags in a basket together and wash them all at the same time. Use, re-use and repeat!
              7. Cut Down On Energy In Your Home. There are a lot of ways to cut back on energy you use in your home. These will lead to smaller energy bills and more money in your pocket! That is a win for you and a win for the Earth. Start by lowering your thermostat in the winter and raising it in the summer. Unplug appliances when they aren’t being used, wash all possible clothes on cold (according to The Worldwatch Institute, 85 percent of the energy used to machine-wash clothes goes to heating the water) and use a drying rack or clothesline to dry your outfits when they are finished being washed. Reducing your energy around the home is literally as easy as a click of the button.
              8. Borrow Instead Of Buying. It is easy to waste money on things that you can easily borrow. Rent movies, borrow books from libraries and buy secondhand goods when at all possible. By purchasing and using pre-owned items, you reduce those items that need to be kept in a landfill and save yourself money. Living green doesn’t mean you have to settle for less, many items that you find in a used-goods store are just as good as the original. Search the web or explore your town for some neat items. If you find or have found something super unique in the past, share it with us on our Facebook or Twitter page!
              9. Reduce Water Waste. You can live a more eco-friendly lifestyle by using less water and cutting back on your bottled water purchases. Take a shorter shower in the morning or install a low-flow showerhead. The investment in a low-flow showerhead will be worth it when you receive your next water bill and it is significantly lower than the last. Cutting back on bottled water purchases is easy. Even if you live in an area where your tap water isn’t the tastiest, purchasing a water filter will take some of that irony aftertaste out of your water and purify it to your bottled-water standards. Plus, a water filter will save you money in the long run, when you don’t have to take trip after trip to the store to purchase more bottled water!
              10. Recycling A Car. You may not know it, but recycling your vehicle is one of the best ways to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. While you are making your changes, you may be looking to get a more gas-friendly vehicle. If that is the case, donate your vehicle to Wheels For Wishes! They will recycle your vehicle or auction it off to a new owner, with all of the proceeds from your donation benefiting Make-A-Wish! The most recycled consumer product in the world today is the automobile. At least 95 percent of each unusable vehicle is recycled each year. According to the American Iron and Steel Institute, about 26 vehicles are recycled throughout the world every minute! You can donate your vehicle and help change the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions today by calling 1-877-431-9474 or filling out an easy donation form online. Since Wheels For Wishes is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, you will receive the maximum possible tax deduction for your car donation.
